Beyoncé Talks Cuba Controversy, Protecting Blue Ivy & Having More Children

Beyoncé hasn’t found the time to release any of her new singles, while I’m over here shaking like an addict. However, she did make time for Good Morning America to come through in London and interview her on everything from her infamous trip to Cuba, her upcoming role in the animated film, Epic, and her professional press-on nails.

There was also some talk of making Blue Ivy a big sister, while rumors are already swirling that Lady Bey is pregnant again. I doubt she has another honey bun in that oven right now, but I suppose we’ll have to wait and see. Check out some blurbs and video below.

On the Cuba trip controversy: “You know, it was such a beautiful trip. I met some incredible children. I visited some incredible entrepreneurs. And it was really, it was really educational for me. I learned so much about so many people and the country, and it was actually quite shocking.”

On her Epic role: “It has so much depth. You know, it’s so emotional. And I literally, I was crying when I—when I did the voiceover. And it was the first thing I did after giving birth. And there’s a scene where I pick the pod. And literally there were…tears falling.”

On staying grounded: “You know, at the end of the day you’re the same exact person. I still like the simple things. Like, I have on my press-on nails right now. I have on my store-bought press-on nails. But my color, my paint is professionally done.”

On expanding her family: “I would like more children. I think my daughter needs some company. I definitely love being big sister.”

On her goals and dreams: “I just want happiness and I want great friends and great family.”

On being a mother to Blue Ivy: “And I am very protective. I just want to make sure that she can have a healthy, safe, normal life…in the back of my mind, she’s my priority. And life is completely different now. I feel really, really just lucky that I can still do what I love, and now have a way bigger meaning. And that’s to be her mother.”

  • Love Bey!

She’s really good at being politically correct with her answers and also being sincere with her answers…. Come on with the music Bey! Standing on the sun or grown woman i’ll take either!!

As I read somewhere else, it’s Matthew Knowles school of Media Training, he did that!

        The Skorpion Show?! lol

Yass Kevin from the Skorpion Show!

Naw booski, she can keep Standing on the Sun, i am here for Grown Woman however. I’m so thirsty for that single, I keep saying “I’m a grroowwwwwn woman, I can do what-eva I want!” at random times

Why isn’t there any demand for her to tighten up on her interviewing skills? Why can’t she open all the way up and be relaxed? She’s so trained that it feels inauthentic. It’s like we want her to shut up and sing. I for one love a good interview from these artist. She sucks with this shit..

    • ok

She can’t be relaxed because she’s not good at interviews. A lot of artists aren’t. And as Beyonce, she obviously can’t be saying just anything out of her mouth because even when she’s just breathing, people are pissed.

      • ZJ

Agreed. I think she’s not that comfortable talking to people she doesn’t know well. In her documentary, she sounded quite articulate when she was talking to the people she works with or just talking to the camera (and I admit, I was surprised). Anyway, I can feel her pain because I’m shy and introverted and generally don’t like having to actually talk to people. As long as I’m texting or emailing, I’m fine, but carrying on a conversation with someone face to face… forget about it.

      • Jazz

I see where you’re coming from, but its not like they’re asking her opinion on U.S. military presence in Syria. How hard can it be to answer questions about yourself? (especially when I’m sure she had the questions in advance).

I don’t see it for Bey in interviews, but hey we can’t have it all. I still love her to death and am here for the way she whips that lacefront from here to the Amalfi coast.

    • #IJS

I don’t really think it’s fair to criticize her based on the interviews she gives. At the end of the day, it must be exhausting to be on tour AND give interviews. All celebrities are coached and trained for the media (some more than others, thank GOD). And really, she’s a singer, so as long as she can still sing, I don’t really care how she interviews. She gave you “Life is but a dream” what more could you want? LOL

    • idk

I kinda feel the same way..when I see her being interviewed its like she is on the verge of tears…thats just my opinion..

  • You’re Welcome

“…In the back of my mind, she’s my priority”
Sound like an oxymoron…but we knew what you meant girl!

    • You’re Welcome

      Ooop…I meant to say “Sounds”
Guess I should check my grammar before I check someone elses…hahaha!

    • ok

      that’s not an oxymoron.

      • BlairWaldorf2013

NO MA’AM NO SIR…You CAN NOT say something or someone is at the BACK of your mind and SIMULTANEOUSLY say (it or they) is a PRIORITY. By virtue of the definition of Priority (it or they) would HAVE to be immediate, necessary, pertinent, etc. and thus COULDN’T BE at the back of a person’s mind.
No I know people like to make excuses for Beyoncé but LOGIC and REASONING, and the DICTIONARY will NOT BEND for her like you mortals do.

        • BlairWaldorf2013

          *Now* for the typo above

        • bb

This is why she can’t be relaxed in interviews. We know what she meant. Lord, I’m not even a Beyonce fan but every time I see her I enjoy her performance. I don’t understand all this beyonce hate..

          • Ericc Chappell

Exactly! She can’t do nothing without people saying something about her even if it’s something small that everybody understands

        • Suchalady

But we know she cannot speak, so why the shock?

  • teeyahontas

Bey said it on Oprah, she doesn’t like public speaking. I think she slows herself down to sound more articulate, but she ends up sounding slow. Kinda like how Rihanna slows down to not use Bajan terms…

Meanwhile, Kid Fury hasn’t found the time to release any of his new podcasts, while I’m over here shaking like an addict…

    • A Name

Now you do know that they said there wouldn’t be a podcast last week. They release on Friday and it’s Monday, so I’m sure there will be one this Friday

      • teeyahontas

Thank you forgiving my life meaning! I’ll have to tough it out till Friday or till Bey drops a single already…

    • That girl MEL!

Kid Fury SMOOTH left us for a whole week! He ain’t queue up no posts or NUTHIN! I mean, I know you was on vacation, Boo, but . . . you had us feenin! LOL!

      • Kat

        I know that right.

Been checking for new shit every day for up til today. Had to suffice just by checking the twitter for my fix. lmao

  • EasyBreezy BeautifulBadBitch

Beyonce is just everything! I love her! Can’t wait for a full single so I can get my life. Meanwhile, Fury hasn’t found the time to release a new Youtube vid or episode of The Read, while I’m over here shaking like an addict.

    • teeyahontas

      We both shaking, girl!

  • RamenNoodles

The interviewer needs to be snatched. Why didn’t she ask any questions about music? Bey looks good and she seems to be in a good place.

  • M.J.

Meanwhile, the release date for the single is buried near the lost city of Atlantis.

    • Indigo

lmfaoooo I just watched the cartoon today

  • missmarchmommy

So this interview does not contain anything that wasn’t covered in the Documentary or the Oprah sit down?

  • YaVyBnMe

Aw that interview was actually so sweet! (aside from the non-answer on the Cuba thing) It’s true that most people desire the same basic things. It’s what drives us all, some people are just more driven so they work harder and get more access and opportunities. I love that Bey is an example that if you’re focused and work hard you really can have it all!!

She’s said before she wants to EGOT but I’ve never been here for Bey as an actress and don’t really see it for her. I figure maybe her team thinks an animated version of her can win an Oscar! LOL

    • ❥Bambi ♪ ♬

      Gasp* you TRIED it sis

    • Kim.Couture
    • Brii

I think that was her way of saying that it’s none of our business how she got to Cuba. Just know that she went, she saw, she conquered.

      • YaVybnMe

Yeah Bey was like, “y’all ain’t about to have me saying some ish that’ll have me bunking with Lauryn Hill anytime soon!” Lol (I don’t think Lauryn having to go to jail is actually funny for the record.)
