While you’re blasting “Strawberry Bubblegum”, Justin Timberlake is probably celebrating with champagne and Jessica Biel kisses. His comeback project, The 20/20 Experience, has made a huge stamp on the charts, selling nearly one million copies in the first week.
According to Nielsen SoundScan, the Timbaland-produced album has debuted at No. 1 on Billboard with 968,000 copies sold in week one. This is his second No. 1 album, since FutureSex/LoveSounds in 2006.
Billboard reports that this is the 19th-largest sales week for an album since 1991 when Soundscan began tracking the data, but Justin’s old band, ‘NSync holds the all-time record after No Strings Attached debuted at No. 1 with 2.42 million sold.
Big congratulations to Justin Timberlake. He deserves all the success for this album, and I can’t stop rolling around in my sheets when “Don’t Hold The Wall” plays on iTunes. A follow up to The 20/20 Experience is set for release later this year.
