There has been a lot of buzz about VH1′s upcoming TLC biopic ever since MC Lyte spilled the beans about Lil Mama’s role in the film. Now the entire cast has been revealed and child…they can keep it.
In the movie about one of pop’s top-selling girl groups of all time, Keke Palmer (Akeelah & The Bee) will be playing Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, Drew Sidora (The Game) will play Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Lil Mama will be playing Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes.
The TV movie, directed by Charles Stone III (Drumline), will following TLC’s rise to fame from their 1991 debut Ooooooohhh… On the TLC Tip to the 1994 certified Diamond album, Crazy, Sexy, Cool. The script is being written by Kate Lanier (Set It Off, Beauty Shop) and production is expected to begin next month in Atlanta.
VH1 can keep every flaw ass ounce of this. With TLC being one of my favorite groups of all time, I’d like to give the movie a chance, but I already know Drew Sidora can’t act and she neither looks nor sounds like T-Boz. Keke Palmer might be able to pull off Chilli, but Lil Mama’s only impressive acting is when she portrays Bow Wow.
