New Music: Bruno Mars – When I Was Your Man

I haven’t seen it for Bruno Mars since he went on tour with Janelle Monaé and then devoured all of her style and stage presence, but I mean…he isn’t going away.

His sophomore album, Unorthodox Jukebox, is due on December 11th and this is the latest cut, “When I Was Your Man.” The song, which is now available on iTunes, tells the story of Bruno’s regret after losing the one he loves. It’s supposedly based on his ex-girlfriend.

he cheated on his ex with rita ora this isnt about rita. in the song he talks about his ex “dancing” at parties or how he remebered how she loved to “dance” his ex is a dancer. she’s has danced on tour with Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Beyonce and even Lady Gaga. her name is Chanel Malvar they made a really cute couple this song is beautiful

Fury, I likes you and all, but I’ma need you to stop shading Bruno if you don’t know much about him. I stan for Janelle, but I like me some Bruno too. They have similar tastes and a non-genre specific sound, which is why they toured together. But that’s where the similarities stop. First of all, Bruno has had that throwback style longer than Janelle has, seeing that he’s been performing Doo-Wop, 50s Rock, and 60s Soul since he was a toddler. The coordinated suits, pompadoured hair, and hitting shuffles/splits is nothing new to him. His debut album is an ode to that music, hence the style and title, Doo Wops and Hooligans (which came out before he ever toured or performed with Jane). Janelle’s reason for dressing the way she does is totally different as well, plus she’s more fantasy/avant garde based. She also wears a uniform almost all the time, offstage and onstage. Either black and white tux or a black and white outfit of some sort. Bruno and his band only did the coordinated suits and choreography for certain song arrangements and certain tv performances…not all of them. He also never did that during concerts, unlike Janelle. Have you even seen either of them live? I swear, folks who don’t know what they’re talking about are the first to start shit lol. And the nerve of the Beyonce stan to talk about someone jocking someone’s style…gwurl!

If you’re referring to my comment, yes I sure did. You can retire your pom poms. Fury’s word and taste is not the gospel. In no way do I find Beyonce untalented or undeserving of her success, but let’s not pretend like she hasn’t been “inspired” a helluva lot. I have no problem with Fury not liking Bruno or whoever else, that’s the beauty in opinion. But, when you basically make shit up to support your claims, then yea…I gots a problem with that and I will point it out. Be informed and critique or shut the fuck up. And that’s with anyone. It’s seriously a pet peeve of mine.
