Azealia Banks Talks New Album & Love For Beyoncé With Beats By Dre

Azealia Banks recently joined the Beats by Dre “Show Your Color” campaign and sat with the headphone company for a brief interview on set during her shoot.

They crammed a variety of different little notes in this short video. One being the the Harlem rapper/singer’s upcoming debut album, Broke With Expensive Taste, which is due early next year.

“The vision and vibe that I have for Broke With Expensive Taste is just for it to be just as stylish and authentic as anything that I do,” Azealia says. “There isn’t really a genre that I’m trying to go for or a specific vibe that I’m trying to go for, but I’m going for authenticity.”

Banks claims she isn’t inspired by any of her musical peers artistically, but has a big love for The Ultra Sweet Nutmeg Devine Knowles…as she should.

“I definitely think like career-wise and personally, I’m very very inspired by Beyoncé,” she admits. “She’s just so well-mannered and so classy and so well poised. It’s important to have those kinds of skills.”

Umm Im from New York born and raised back and forth between East Harlem and Southside Jamaica Queens and I sound exactly like that when Im being interviewed lol. Not when Im talking to my friends but when people are asking me questions like “Who inspires you?” “Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?” blah blah, I do tend to sound whiney and very “forced” proper, because Im trying so hard not to let my NY accent show too much…. I used to think Nicki was over doing it too, until I actually heard a recording of myself. Lol
