BET Studios decided to shoot their New Year’s Eve special a week and a half in advance. The annual 106 & Party show was recorded yesterday, featuring appearances by Omarion, Cherish, Jibbs, and more. Now that’s black entertainment, am I right?
Omarion ; Young Cheezy ; Lloyd ; Juelz Santana
Cherish ; Jibbs ; Jibbs, Big Tigga, and random hoes
BTW: I’m sorry, but Lloyd looks like a mix between a 75 year old Puerto Rican and a Mexican child prostitute. Everytime I look at him, I think of a glass of Johnnie Walker on-the-rocks.
MediaTakeOut.com spoke exclusively with a Bad Boy insider who claims that Cassie and her manager Ryan Leslie are trying desperately to be released from Bad Boy Records. According to the source, Cassie’s team feels that Bad Boy hasn’t put enough of an effort in marketing the teen singer. The insider explains, “when you look at what Def Jam did for Rihanna, or what LaFace is doing for Ciara, you can kind of understand where she’s coming from.”
Well, I don’t really believe 75% of the B.S. that MediaTakeout posts, but I wouldn’t be suprised if this was true. I mean, even if Cassie doesn’t leave Bad Boy now, she’s probably going to within the next 6 months, so why not get a head start. I also heard that Diddy may have harassed the “singer” sexually. I guess she wasn’t ready for superstar sperm of that magnitude.

Alicia Keys has publicly applauded old pal Beyonce for her Golden Globe Best Actress nomination-because she feels the singer/actress could herald a new era of “triple-threat” stars. She says, “I can’t wait to see Beyonce in “Dreamgirls. I think, going back in that direction now, and to be able to encompass so many styles, and do it with so much class, is fantastic. I’ve known Beyonce for a while. We did meet each other when we were on Columbia (record label), where they did retreats and they would show the different artists who were coming out. We got a chance to hang out then. I think we feel the same way about being able to express ourselves. She’s a great lady.”
Alicia, I love you and everything, but if you kiss Beyonce’s ass any harder we might have a problem. You don’t want Jay-Z to have to ring the alarm, now do you?

Just a funny little clip playing off of Beyonce’s lyrics and the President’s unpopularity. I like it, but don’t you think Youtube.com proves that a lot of people have too much time on their hands?
While I try to catch my breath, check out this Christmas e-Card Jim Jones made. He’s not letting this Jay-Z thing go anytime soon. This is hilarious.
Thanks, Miss Info!
Britian’s Arena Magazine has dubbed Jezabel Ho’mishia Carter the Queen of R&B. It’s weird to me how music is judged so differently in the United Kingdom. It’s like another dimension or something.
While everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I’d like to know why the hell they would name Rihanna the “Queen of the R&B”. She is undoubtedly doing her thing, but she’s not a Queen just yet. Besides, it’s gonna take a while for them to find a crown to fit that big ass head. Oh, ya’ll know it’s true.
Big ups to Honorable Media!

Mary J. Blige rocked the stage at this morning’s Today Show, while Will Smith and his son Jaden stopped by to promote their new movie The Pursuit of Happyness, which hits theaters today.
Is it just me or do Mary’s ears look a little elf-like? Christmas spirit maybe?

Soul queen Diana Ross is hoping to cash in on movie musical “Dreamgirls,” which is inspired by her life story, by releasing a new covers album in America. The singer has made it public knowledge she’s not a fan of the film, which stars Beyonce as a character loosely based on herself, but she isn’t going to let the film pass her by without reminding fans she’s still recording. The 62-year-old singer will release “I Love You,” her first new studio album in more than seven years, in her native America on 16 January (07) - less than a month after the Christmas Day release of Dreamgirls. The new album, which features Ross’ renditions of classics has already been released in parts of Europe. [ source ]
I know some of my readers are probably expecting me to bash Diana, but I just can’t do that today. I love that bug-eyed bitch and I’m happy to hear that she’s releasing a new album. As long as they don’t pair her up with Rick Ross, I’ll be fine.
There is hardly a day that goes by where something doesn’t cause me to worry about the state of the world. Today, it’s this - Michael Jackson and Youngbloodz on a song together! I think a high-pitched “what the fuck” is in order.
I’m not sure if this is a real studio record or if it’s simply a mix, but the collaboration disturbs and confuses me either way. If I wake up to news next week that Barry Manilow and Project Pat have done a song together, I’m moving in with Propecia and awaiting the apocolypse.
